Office Policies & Mission

Hours

We are open to serve you, answer questions, or schedule an appointment during our normal office hours, which are Monday through Thursday from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m.  We will see patients on Fridays occasionally as school calendars dictate.  During winter months, our office follows the Issaquah School District's schedule for weather-related delays and closures.  If Issaquah schools are delayed, our schedule will be similarly delayed and patients scheduled during the delay period will need to be rescheduled.  When Issaquah schools are closed, our office will also be closed and patients scheduled on that day will need to be rescheduled.

Our four day work week is necessary because we see patients both before and after school to maximize the number of non-school appointment times.  That makes for a long 9-10 hour work day for our staff and would place them in an overtime situation if they were required to work a five day week.  This in turn would make your treatment fees more costly.  To help control costs we've limited the practice to four days per week, which is standard for orthodontic practices.

Appointments

Your scheduled appointment time has been reserved specifically for you. Please contact us at least 24-hours prior to your scheduled appointment if you need to cancel that appointment. Failure to do so may result in additional fees.  We are aware that unforeseen events sometimes require missing an appointment but this policy helps us to be able to maximize the number of patients we can help each day which in turn helps our patients to be able to finish their treatment sooner.  A missed appointment is an opportunity for treatment that, instead of being wasted, could have gone to another patient, including you!  Please help us reach our goals of timely and efficient orthodontic treatment for you and all of our patients by providing 24 hours notice if you must miss an appointment.

Insurance

Our office is committed to helping you maximize your insurance benefits. We gladly accept nearly all orthodontic insurances.   At your first visit we will show you whether you have orthodontic coverage and if so, the particulars of your coverage.  Unlike dental insurance, nearly all orthodontic insurance has a fixed lifetime benefit amount that will be paid regardless of whether the provider delivering the care is in or out of your insurance's network/preferred provider list.  Insurance companies often don't clearly communicate this fact, so it can be confusing.  Nevertheless, it is true.

At Hawkins Orthodontics we are happy to file your orthodontic claims for you and consider it a part of our great customer service.  Submitting claims can be time-consuming and frustrating for those with little experience in dealing with insurance compaines.  Let us take this chore off your plate.  We suspect you may have better things to do with your time than making photocopies, looking up treatment billing codes and waiting on hold.  Are we right?

Payment Plans

Yes, we do offer payment plans to help make orthodontic treatment more affordable.  We don't charge any interest and will spread the payments out in order to lower your monthly payment.  We do our best to bring braces within financial reach of  families who may need to have multiple members in braces at the same time by offering family discounts.  If you're worried that treatment will be too expensive, come in and see what we can work out for you.  You will be surprised.

If you ever have any questions, our courteous finanacial team members are just a phone call, e-mail or office visit away.  For more information about our insurance policies or payment options, please visit our Financial/Insurance page.
